About Natalie

With over 14 years of hands-on experience building and leading successful businesses, Natalie brings genuine insight into what it takes to grow, manage, and eventually exit a company. As the co-founder of Section Technologies — later expanded into Section Group — she navigated every stage of business development before selling the company in November 2024.

Having quite literally walked the path from start to finish, Natalie understands both the rewards and the challenges of business ownership. From finding the right clients and building a capable team, to managing budgets, cash flow, and growth pressures, she’s faced it all.

Through Oak Mentoring, Natalie now channels that experience into helping other small and medium-sized businesses grow with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Building a team

Building the right team starts with building the right culture. For Natalie, culture, built around ethics and values, has always been at the heart of business success. During her time leading Section Group, she placed great importance on hiring the right people — and, when necessary, making difficult decisions — to protect and strengthen that culture.

Taking on small and large clients

Natalie understands the importance of balance when it comes to client relationships. Throughout her business journey, she focused on maintaining a healthy mix of small and large clients to ensure stability and reduce risk — a strategy that supported sustainable growth and resilience. Natalie’s main belief is, it doesn’t matter the size of the client or the revenue they generate, they should all be treated with the same approach, support and value based connection.

Managing a team and a business when things don't quite go to plan

Every business owner and manager faces challenges, but how you show up and the attitude you bring can make all the difference. Staying calm, adaptable, and solution-focused can turn setbacks into opportunities for growth. During her time owning Section Group, the world faced Covid, one of the biggest juggling acts any owner or manger can find themself facing. How Natalie dealt with this global event, to not only keep the company afloat but to also significantly grow during this time, is a story not to be missed!

Growing One Business into Four

Exploring opportunities to expand and develop your business is exciting, but it’s equally important to stay focused on your overall vision. Balancing growth with maintaining the strength of what you already have is key to long-term success. Natalie saw potential of growth by listening to her clients, they came to her with specific requirements which Natalie wanted to support. This is how an I.T. company developed into 3 further businesses, specialising in their own areas (Websites and Digital Marking, VoIP Telephony and Data Hosting).

This is an area Natalie is passionate about and can assist any business owner or manager to excel in be ready for whatever is thrown their way!

Buying out other businesses

When Section Technologies acquired another business, Natalie personally led the negotiations and guided the onboarding of new clients. It was incredibly rewarding to ensure a smooth transition, maintain strong relationships, and set the foundation for continued growth. Buying out another business the right way, is by far one of the quickest ways to grow your own business.

My Vision

Natalie loves walking alongside business owners, guiding and supporting them through their business journey while drawing on all her years of experience to help them grow.

While building Section Group, Natalie also launched The Gift Section, a business-to-business hamper company specialising in settlement gifting, which is now approaching its third busy Christmas season.

Natalie’s passion for business, personal growth, and working across a variety of industries inspired her to start Oak Mentoring. Since 2021, she has been mentoring business owners, helping them believe in their big ideas, set meaningful goals, and make confident decisions.

Natalie’s goal is to support 100 business owners over the next five years, helping them grow their businesses to where they envision them — whether that support is daily, weekly, or monthly — so they never feel alone on their journey.
